Minden Press-Herald sports editor JJ Marshall has been named as one of the best in the state after the Louisiana Sports Writers Association named the MPH 2019 Football Preview as “Best Special Section” in Louisiana.
“Very slick design!,” the judge’s comments read. “This looks like one of those glossy preview magazines you see on a store shelf. Great use of colors throughout and nice little touches, like the little football shape cutout for the page number. The writing is concise and ‘big picture.’ This is something to be proud of.”
Marshall also took home second place in Louisiana for “Columnist of the Year,” second place for “General Sports Story,” honorable mention for “Prep Writer of the Year” and the Press-Herald’s sports section finished in the top-five overall.
