After nearly two months of continued absences for the City Council meetings, Councilmen Terika Willaims-Walker and Vincen Bradford were seen in attendance for Wednesday’s meeting.
Their attendance gave the Council enough for a quorum, which allowed them to finally take care of their first act of city business in months.
However, there was only one item on the agenda, that being the $30,000 CARES grant for the airport, of which Mayor Gardner and other Councilman have expressed the urgency in passing given that the deadline for the grant is June 1. After awaiting some comments from the public, the motion was carried unanimously.
When asked, none of the Councilmen provided additional comments.
The next City Council meeting takes place on Monday, June 1, at 5:30 p.m. in the regular City Council chambers. Members of the public can view the meeting online at the City’s Youtube Channel titled, City of Minden – Feels Like Home.
