Minden City Council to meet today for workshop, regular session

The Minden City Council will convene Monday, November 3, for a workshop and regular session at Minden City Hall, 520 Broadway St.

The workshop begins at 5 PM in the Pelican Conference Room. Items on the agenda include reports and presentations from Stephanie Mckelva of Project Celebration, Amie Poladian of the Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Commission, Mayor Nicholas Cox, Police Chief Jared McIver, Fire Chief Brian Williams and City Clerk Melaney Langford.

The regular session will follow at 6 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers. 

The council will consider a resolution declaring certain city property as surplus and setting terms for its sale, as well as authorizing Mayor Cox to execute the first amendment to the Municipal Materials Management Agreement.

Council members will also discuss a request for access to the city’s water system for properties on Guy Miller Road, the reappointment of Brian Meeker to the Minden Main Street Program/Downtown Development Commission, and several personnel matters within the Minden Police Department, including four promotions and two new hires.

Additional items include the September 2025 budget and financial report and the annual fire report for 2025.
