Minden High School JROTC Cadets Embrace Personal Values for Life’s Journey

by Minden Press-Herald

In a recent initiative aimed at fostering personal growth and character development, Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) cadets at Minden High School embarked on a journey to define their personal code of conduct. Through introspection and guidance from their instructors, cadets delved into the core principles that would guide their actions and decisions in various aspects of life.

Among the key outcomes of this endeavor was the formulation of The Seven Army Values, which serve as a framework for ethical behavior and leadership within the JROTC program and beyond. These values—Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage—are not only integral to military service but also hold significant relevance in civilian life.

Under the guidance of dedicated instructors, cadets engaged in discussions, activities, and reflections to internalize these values and understand their practical applications in everyday scenarios. From demonstrating loyalty to one’s peers and country to upholding personal integrity in the face of adversity, each value carries profound implications for shaping character and fostering a sense of responsibility among the cadets.
