In celebration of Read Across America 2024, student-athletes from Minden High School (MHS) recently visited Richardson Elementary School to engage with young readers and promote the joy of reading.
Dressed in their school colors with eager smiles, MHS student-athletes enthusiastically joined Richardson Elementary students in various reading activities.
Read Across America is an annual event held on March 2nd, which coincides with the birthday of renowned children’s author, Dr. Seuss. The initiative aims to inspire children of all ages to pick up a book and discover the magic of reading.
At Richardson Elementary, the MHS student-athletes embraced the spirit of Read Across America by actively engaging with the elementary students and encouraging them to explore the wonders of literature. By serving as positive role models and reading buddies, the high school students demonstrated the importance of literacy and education in building a brighter future.
The visit not only provided valuable reading experiences for the elementary students but also offered an opportunity for the MHS student-athletes to give back to their community and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
