by Minden Press-Herald

The MHS Student Council recently participated in the annual Louisiana Association of Student Council conventions which was held at Pineville High School. The group ran for state Vice-President with a Grease-inspired 50’s theme of “We’re The One That You Want” and represented MHS at a level that gained recognition and respect from across the state.

The group was recognized for their community service and received an award for their part in the “Grant a Wish” program for the Louisiana State Trooper’s Association. They also received the distinction of “Gold Honor Council” again this year and were the state winners of the poster contest which was designed and created by Cassidy McKinney. Anna Claire Tucker also brought home the state runner up award for public speaking.

The group is sponsored by Angel Lee and Daniel Blell. MHS Student Council would like to thank the entire community for their support and a special thanks to Webster Junior High School for their assistance in the campaign.
