Minden JSL launches annual coat drive for Webster Parish children

by Amber McDown

The Minden Junior Service League (JSL) has kicked off its annual coat drive, aiming to provide children across Webster Parish with warm winter coats. The initiative seeks to ensure that every child in need is prepared for the cold season.

Over the next seven weeks, residents are encouraged to donate new or gently used coats at several collection points around Minden. Drop-off locations include All Hours Fitness, the Minden Police Department, Geaux Fresh, Parish Design Co., and b1BANK on MBL Bank Drive.

The Minden Police Association has expressed its support for the coat drive, inviting the public to bring donations to their department. Parish Design Co. is also offering a 10% discount on total purchases to those who contribute coats.

JSL members highlight the importance of this yearly effort, which has distributed over 300 coats annually to local children. They encourage the community to get involved by donating coats of all sizes, ensuring that no child goes cold this winter.

The Minden JSL Coat Drive represents an opportunity for the community to come together in support of its youngest and most vulnerable members. With numerous drop-off locations and community partners, residents are urged to make a difference by contributing to this vital cause. The drive will continue through the fall, with all donations going directly to children in need throughout Webster Parish.
