A Minden man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he was found passed out in his vehicle, sheriff’s deputies say.

William Austin Noble, 53, of the 100 block of Goodwill Road, was arrested Friday, May 22, and charged with DWI (third offense) and reckless operation. Bond was set at $21,000.

According to reports, Deputy Troy Walker and Lt. Luster Coleman found Noble passed out in his vehicle in the ditch of the on-ramp to Interstate 20 at Goodwill Road. Noble was offered medical treatment but refused, deputies say.

Coleman says he detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Noble’s person and conducted field sobriety tests.
Following the third test, deputies suspended them for the suspect’s safety, reports say.

Noble was then placed under arrest for the above charges and taken to the sheriff’s office for a breathalyzer test. Noble refused.
He was then transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
