Minden Patillo Tarheels win AAU Tournament

The Minden Patillo Tarheels traveled to Tallulah on Saturday, March 19, to participate in the Madison Stars Annual Shootout Tournament at Madison High School. The Tarheels defeated the Madison Lady Stars 40-17 in the championship game to earn the tournament crown. The Tarheels are, in no order, Whitney Aubrey, Taylor Banks, Sha’Terra Batton, E’Mya Cooper, Shuntoria Cox, Natalie Dubose, Derrica Gilbert, LaMya Hampton, Chrishawna Jones, Shinajah Lofton, Destini Powell and Sha’Morrow Whiting. Not pictured, Taylor Benjamin, Ah’Million Cosby, Artazia Henderson and Damesha Rodgers. The Tarheels are coached by Jerome Blalock, A.J, Shine and Rodarion Rogers. The Tarheels are currently accepting donations for their summer basketball program which includes travel, lodging and food for tournaments in Memphis, Tennessee, and Dallas for the Primetime National Basketball Tournament at the end of July. The Patillo Tarheels are a non-profit organization for children 14-17 years old, dedicated to working with children in our area to develop their skills each players’ fullest potential.
