Minden woman arrested in child abuse case

by Minden Press-Herald

A Minden woman has been arrested on charges of cruelty to juveniles and simple assault following a reported incident at Minden High School during a June football camp.

According to police, the victim’s mother reported on June 20 that her daughter was grabbed by Jane Sneed, who allegedly pulled the child by the arm and demanded she stay off the football field. The football camp was hosted by NFL player L’Jarius Sneed, a Tennessee Titans cornerback.

Police said the victim’s mother confronted Sneed about the incident, at which time Sneed allegedly threatened her. Detectives later found evidence supporting the mother’s claims, according to the report.

An arrest warrant was issued for Sneed on charges of cruelty to juveniles and simple assault.

On September 18, Sneed turned herself in on the warrant. She was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
