Minden Medical Center hosted a senior health and fitness event Wednesday, May 28, at the Minden REC, drawing a large turnout of attendees ages 50 and older.
Themed “Travel the World for Better Health,” the event featured international flags and global décor, creating a festive atmosphere for participants. Attendees were treated to a meal, had the opportunity to win door prizes, and engaged with a variety of vendors offering information on health and fitness.

One of the event highlights was the presence of the Allegiance mobile health unit, which provided blood pressure screenings. This appearance marked the first use of the unit, one of four available through Allegiance. Depending on scheduling, the units can deliver services such as wellness checks, vaccinations, and eye exams.
While primarily used for Allegiance clinics, the mobile health units are also available for rental by other organizations. Officials say the units will be especially valuable in providing care to rural communities.
MMC provided this event as part of their ongoing efforts to support the health and well-being of seniors in the area by connecting them with resources and preventive care.
