Graveside services for Monroe Vanburen Cox will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Nicholas Cox and Rev. Richard Methvin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. 

Monroe was born March 23, 1932 in Emmett, Arkansas and entered into rest June 2, 2019 in Minden, Louisiana.  He served his country in the United States Army. Monroe was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church since 1972 and a member of Good Samaritan’s Class.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Cox and mother Nellie Marie Glanton, son, Roy Joe Cox,   granddaughters Linsey Brooke Armstrong and Carrie Cox and great-grandson, Evan James Martin. 

He is survived by his son, Ronnie Cox and wife Jennifer of Minden, daughter, Bronna Armstrong and husband Paul of Minden, sisters, Marion Helen Nelson of Prescott, Arkansas and Bertha Fay Hamilton of Buckner, Arkansas, grandchildren, Nick Cox and wife Cayla, Hollie Michael & husband Dana, Brittany Cox, Ryan Cox, Jonathan Glasscock and wife Emily, Justin Armstrong and wife Megan, Melissa McGuire, Laura Cox, Roy Lynn Cox, and twenty great- grandchildren. 

The family extends a special thanks to Savannah Court for the excellent care and love they gave our dad for six years. To Grace Hospice , Liz Glass, Monica, Precious, Sherry McLemore and Jennifer Sones, thank you for going above and beyond giving meds.
