Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) has reached a significant milestone in its efforts to train the next generation of powerline workers. In a recent Facebook post, NLTCC announced the completion of their climbing yard, marking a significant step forward in their training program. While there are still transformers to hang, the completion of the climbing yard represents a major achievement for the college and its students. The project was made possible through collaboration with Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) and the dedication of NLTCC instructor James Barlow. SWEPCO expressed their honor in being part of NLTCC’s mission to prepare future lineworkers, highlighting the importance of such training initiatives for the community.
