NLTCC named one of the Top Vocational Schools for 2025

by Minden Press-Herald

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) has been recognized on the inaugural list of Top Vocational Schools for 2025, a national ranking published by USA TODAY in partnership with market research firm Statista.

The list highlights top-performing institutions offering certificate and diploma programs that lead directly to the workforce. Schools were evaluated on graduation rates, graduate salaries, time to repay the net cost of attendance, social mobility, and diversity. NLTCC earned its spot through strong outcomes in all five areas.

“We are proud to receive this recognition,” said Dr. Jayda Spillers, Chancellor of NLTCC. “Our students gain the hands-on training and real-world skills they need to succeed in high-demand, high-wage careers. This ranking confirms that our programs are making a real difference in their lives and in the communities we serve.”

The announcement comes at a time when more people are rethinking what success after high school looks like. Career and technical education programs, as well as short-term workforce training, are gaining momentum as families look for affordable, career-focused alternatives to traditional four-year degrees.

With campuses in Mansfield, Minden, and Shreveport, NLTCC offers hands-on training in high-demand fields like Allied Health, Industrial Technology, and Manufacturing Technology. The Fall semester begins August 11th.
