The Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation is proud to announce the third year of the North Louisiana Arts Interchange, offering a unique opportunity for artists to engage in experimentative collaborations. Arts Interchange runs from March until September every year, culminating in an exciting exhibition at the Creatives At Work gallery in Ruston, Louisiana, from August 5th until August 31st, with a public reception on August 31st from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Over the first 10 weeks, from March through May, participants convened weekly via Zoom to meet and discuss assignments as they each worked with one another on mini-projects. These sessions featured discussions and guest speakers, guiding the artists as they navigated this alternative mode of creative partnership. Each week, the artists were paired off to complete collaborative assignments, ensuring that every participant has the chance to work directly with each other, fostering a rich environment of shared learning and artistic growth.
By the end of May, the artists established working relationships and formed permanent pairs. These pairs have spent the summer months creating new, original works that reflect their collaborative efforts. The culmination of this program will be the North Louisiana Arts Interchange Exhibit, where these innovative pieces will be displayed to the public at the Creatives At Work gallery 112 West Alabama Avenue in Downtown Ruston.
The 2024 cohort of artists includes, in order of the pairs, Daniela “Dani” Capistrano & Don Graham Jr., brooke cassady & Lindsay Carraway, Taryn Davidson & Keagan Vaughan, and Sarah Dupree & Morgan McCullin.
This program not only provides a structured framework for artists to experiment with online collaboration but also challenges them to leverage play and exploration in their creative processes. The North Louisiana Arts Interchange is committed to fostering a vibrant community of artists who are unafraid to push the boundaries of their established artistic process. Join us in celebrating the works created this year at the Arts Interchange Exhibit Public Reception on August 31st, 2024 in the Creatives At Work gallery from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
