The Knights got little resistance from the Taylor Tigers en route to a convincing 21-1 victory across the state line.
The Knights pounded out seven hits and benefited from seven Tiger errors. Still, it took North Webster five innings to finally pull away with a 15-run inning.
The Knights (16-6) were led offensively by Daniel Lewis with a double and five RBIs. North Webster’s Riley Orr went 2-4 with two singles and two RBIs, Kade Garmany had a single and three RBIs, Patrick Modisette had an RBI single and Hayden Corbell and Connor McClure each added a single.
Clay Mahaffey added two RBIs and Logan Vidrine plated one run for the Knights.
McClure took the mound for North Webster and pitched well. McClure (3-1) went the distance, tossing five innings, allowing four hits, one walk, no earned runs and striking out four.
North Webster will be back in action Thursday when they travel to Bossier for a district 1-3A battle with Loyola College Prep. The Knights and Flyers will get things started at 6 p.m.
