Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College Celebrates Community College Week

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC), along with other colleges statewide, is gearing up to celebrate Community College Week from April 8th to April 12th. This event, organized by the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), aims to highlight the pivotal role community colleges play in empowering individuals, enriching communities, and advancing the workforce.

The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) has partnered with LCTCS for the fifth consecutive year to make this celebration possible. Throughout the week, each of the 12 colleges within the system, including NLTCC, will host a series of events designed to showcase program pathways, campus life, financial aid opportunities, and more.

Dr. Monty Sullivan, President of LCTCS, emphasized the transformative impact of community colleges, stating, “Our 12 colleges transform lives and create brighter futures. We serve the diverse interests and aspirations of students from all backgrounds, providing educational opportunities and job training in a meaningful way that is also commensurate to the needs of our evolving economy.”

NLTCC invites the community to join in the celebration by sharing favorite college memories and participating in various campus events. Here’s a rundown of the events scheduled at NLTCC campuses:

  • Monday, April 8th
  • Shreveport: Care Cruiser (Mobile Wellness & Opportunity Center)
  • Tuesday, April 9th
  • Mansfield: Open House 9-12
  • Mansfield: Coffee with the Chancellor 9-9:30
  • Thursday, April 11th
  • Minden: Open House 9-12
  • Minden: Coffee with the Chancellor 9-9:30
  • Minden: Care Cruiser (Mobile Wellness & Opportunity Center)
  • Shreveport: Open House 1-4
  • Shreveport: Coffee with the Chancellor 1-1:30

These events offer an excellent opportunity for the community to learn more about the educational opportunities and resources available at NLTCC and to engage with college staff and leadership.
