Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) recently participated in the Junior Achievement of North Louisiana’s Student and Mentor Lunch, held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Shreveport Convention Center. The event aimed to provide valuable mentorship opportunities for over 400 students from the local community.

With a focus on work readiness and career exploration, the Student and Mentor Lunch brought together students and industry professionals for round table discussions. Over 186 mentors volunteered their time to engage in meaningful conversations with the students, sharing their experiences and insights to help them better understand the possibilities available to them beyond the classroom.

The event emphasized the importance of connecting classroom learning to real-world applications, with mentors offering valuable guidance to help students navigate their educational and career paths. By providing students with exposure to professionals from various fields, the lunch aimed to inspire them to explore different career options and pursue their passions with confidence.

NLTCC was proud to be a part of this impactful initiative, recognizing the significance of mentorship in empowering students and helping them make informed decisions about their futures.
