DOYLINE – The Doyline Lady Panthers battled all day with the Logansport Lady Tigers but came up short in the end, falling 8-4.

Doyline was able to push two runs across in the second and fourth innings to take a 4-1 lead through four, but Logansport fought back with two runs in the fifth and four more in the sixth to retake the lead.

Sarah Disotell led the Lady Panthers at the plate Tuesday, going 2-3 with a pair of singles and a RBI. Ashlyn Williams had a triple and two RBIs and Haley Machen singled for Doyline.

Kim Coleman added an RBI and was sensational in the circle. She struck out 13 batters and only walked two in going all seven innings. She allowed just three hits.

The Lady Panthers will look to rebound when they travel to face Weston Thursday at 4 p.m.

The Panthers earned a convincing 12-2 victory over the Woodlawn Knights Tuesday at home, with several Doyline players turning in fantastic days.

Already leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third inning, Doyline exploded for six runs to push their lead to 9-1.

Three more runs in the fourth put the Panthers in position to claim an early victory, and a scoreless frame in the fifth by Doyline pitcher Josh Jordan would seal the deal.

Parker Hearne had a good day at the ball park, going 2-4 with a triple, double and two RBIs. Senior Cameron Smith finished 2-3 with a double, single and one RBI, followed by Bryce Taylor who went 2-2 with two singles and two RBIs.

Nick Burge added a single and two RBIs, Luke Carter had a RBI double, Trey Ware had an RBI single and Shon Tyler added an RBI.

Hearne started on the mound and got the win by tossing two innings, striking out four batters and allowing no hits.

Jax Gaynor pitched two innings also, striking out three and allowing three hits.

Doyline will be back in action Friday at 3:30 p.m. against Many in the Natchitoches Central Tournament.
