by Minden Press-Herald

Peggy Miller Monzingo, 81, of Minden, Louisiana, was born on August 17th, 1941. She passed away peacefully in her home, July 26th, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grib Monzingo of 33 years, parents, Thurman and Gracie Miller, and brothers, T.J. and Joe Miller.

She is survived by her beloved friend, Max Otwell; children, Brian Odom, Keith Odom and wife Susan, Candy Monzingo Davis and husband Kevin, and Tina Monzingo Puckett and husband Chad; sister, Virginia Nell Faciane’; grandchildren, Bill Odom, Brian Keith Odom, Ashlyn Russell, Katelyn Odom, Briscoe Odom, Lane Odom(Samantha), Keeley Russ(Blaine), Cassie Monzingo(Jason Giachino), Anna Grace Gardner, Josh Davis(Michaele), Ariel Finch(Brian), Alexis Burford, Abby Puckett(Zachary McCalmont), Alex Puckett(Caroline); numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  All of these she loved deeply.

Peggy was a native of Minden.  The most important thing to her was her love of the Lord and desire for her children to know Him.

Peggy was a dedicated Mother and MeMe.  She treasured them all and embraced every moment with them.

Peggy was always up for a new adventure.  At age 38, she decided to begin a new career, in her own words, as a “Glamour Technician.”  She was so much more than a beautician.  She always had a listening ear, compassion for others, always having the right words to say, and not to mention the best hair dresser around. Some of her loyal customers became her closest friends.  She retired at age 71, where she enjoyed gardening and talking to her flowers.

Peggy had a great love for life, never meeting a stranger, and always had an open door for family and friends.

Her family asks that she is remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.

Visitation will be July 28th from 5-7 at Roseneath Funeral Home.

Please come and join her family to celebrate her life on July 29th at 10AM, also at Roseneath Funeral Home.
