Percy Mayfield film to be shown at The Farm

A short film on singer-songwriter Percy Mayfield will be shown on The Farm’s outdoor big screen Friday.

This year’s annual Chickenstock will honor Mayfield, a Minden native best known for his songs, “Hit the Road Jack” and “Please Send Me Someone to Love.”

Gates will open at 7 p.m., with the 45-minute movie beginning around 8 p.m.

Concessions and barbecue riblet plates will be available for purchase. Admission is free, but there will a $5 charge for ice chests.

Chickenstock will take place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday at The Farm. Admission is $3 with all proceeds going to the Minden High School band instrument project.

The Farm is located at 419 East Union St. in Minden.
