The Piney Woods Jamboree will celebrate its fourth anniversary with a special performance on Saturday, August 9, featuring country music artist Georgette Jones. The show will begin at 7:00 PM in the CAC Building in Springhill.
Jones, daughter of Country Music Hall of Famers George Jones and Tammy Wynette, will serve as the special guest for the event. She has performed since the age of three and recorded her first duet with her father at age ten. After working as a registered nurse for 17 years and raising her twin sons, she returned to music full time.
Since then, she has recorded a second duet with her father titled, “You and Me and Time,” and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and venues across the U.S., Canada, and overseas. Jones is also the co-author of her biography, The Three of Us, which chronicles her life growing up with her famous parents.
She has appeared in the TV series Sordid Lives alongside Leslie Jordan and Olivia Newton-John and sang on its soundtrack. Recently, she has focused on combining her love of gaming with country music through online streaming and fan engagement.
Advance tickets are available at the Springhill-North Webster Chamber of Commerce and at Express Tax Title and License. General admission is $15, reserved seating is $25, and tickets will be $20 at the door.
