Princeton man arrested after armed threat

by Minden Press-Herald

A Princeton man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly brandishing a firearm during an argument and later being found with drugs and multiple weapons inside a residence, according to Minden police.

Officers responded to Marion Street around 9:30 PM September 14 after receiving reports of an aggravated assault involving a firearm. Police said Decorrey Bridges, 24, displayed a gun during an interaction with a woman and stated, “He was ready for anybody. What do y’all want to do?” before fleeing in a black Hyundai Sonata.

The vehicle was later located outside a home on Evans Street. Officers reported suspicious behavior from people inside the residence and, after receiving consent to enter, found Bridges hiding in a bathroom with another man, identified as Simuel Shaw. Both were detained without incident.

A search of the residence uncovered four ecstasy pills, 6.9 grams of synthetic marijuana, two firearms including an AR-style pistol hidden in an air-conditioning vent, and additional suspected drugs and paraphernalia, police said.

Bridges and Shaw were arrested and face charges including possession of Schedule I narcotics, obstruction of justice, possession of synthetic marijuana, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
