PROJECT UPDATE: I-20 major rehabilitation project, Bossier City

by Minden Press-Herald

BOSSIER CITY – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that two additional ramps have reopened as part of the ongoing I-20 major rehabilitation project in Bossier City.

Both the westbound on and off-ramps at the LA 782-2 (Industrial Drive) interchange are now OPEN to traffic following a full reconstruction. This reopening now means the entire interchange is fully open to traffic.

This also allows the project to continue to progress, and contractor will now proceed with reconstruction of all ramps at the LA 3105 (Airline Drive) interchange. Beginning Monday, June 9, 2025, the westbound on and off-ramps at Airline Drive will close. The eastbound on and off-ramps were previously closed.

These ramps will be fully rebuilt from the ground up in the same manner that the travel lanes on the interstate are being reconstructed as part of this project, which stretches from near Hamilton Road to Industrial Drive.

The entire project remains on track to be complete in late 2025/early 2026, weather and other factors permitting.

As a reminder, commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) are prohibited from driving through the I-20 work zone due to narrow lane widths, and are required to utilize the primary detour of I-220.

Be sure to track construction progress and other helpful resources at the I-20 project webpage. Click here to access that page.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
