Downtown Minden’s newest retail shop, Purvéy, welcomed its first customers Monday, September 15, during a sold-out soft opening that drew overwhelming interest from the community.
Owner Sara McDaniel announced on Friday that she would give away 50 free tickets for the private preview event, which included charcuterie and mocktails prepared by Sarah Overall and The Grazing Cart. Within 30 minutes, all 50 tickets were claimed and more than 1,100 people had responded to the offer.

Inside the newly renovated store, attendees browsed racks of vintage and reloved clothing, home décor and one-of-a-kind treasures. Shoppers lingered in the space, which McDaniel has described as a curated shopping experience designed to bring unique finds and sustainable style to downtown Minden.
“From vintage clothing with timeless character to one-of-a-kind home treasures, every corner of Purvéy tells a story,” McDaniel said.
The grand opening is scheduled for Friday, September 19, when Purvéy will open its doors to the public at 10 AM. Regular hours will be 10 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 PM on Sundays.
McDaniel, known for her historic renovations including Simply Southern Cottage and The Villas at Spanish Court, reflected on the milestone in a post shared with her followers. “I still cannot believe this journey! What in the world!? I’m just a girl who renovated an old house and moved to Minden nearly nine years ago. Opening a cute vintage and reloved clothing shop was not on my bingo card but here we are.”
Purvéy is located in the old Turner building at the corner of Broadway and Dixie.
