Purvéy to host scent, design meet-and-greets this weekend

by Amber McDown

Purvéy Minden will host two free meet-and-greet events Friday and Saturday featuring personal-care designer Niven Morgan and chair designer and artist Wendy Conklin.

Morgan, founder of a luxury line of candles, soaps, lotions and home fragrances, will appear Friday, November 21, from 11 AM to 1 PM for “Scent Sessions.” McDaniel said attendees will have the chance to learn about “the secrets behind his wildly successful collection.”

On his website, Morgan describes the origins of his brand, noting, “I did more than just switch lanes that day: I switched careers — and everything I knew.” He launched his company in 1998 after deciding to pursue a line of personal-care products inspired by travel and by memories of his family’s Louisiana farm.

On Saturday, November 22, from 10 AM to 2 PM, Purvéy will welcome Conklin of Chair Whimsy, who will showcase her new art and product line, Whimsy & Co. McDaniel said the brand brings “joy and fun” to the shop.

Titled “A Whimsical Affair,” the event invites the public to explore Conklin’s colorful designs.

Both events will take place at Purvéy Minden, 726 Broadway, and are open to the public at no charge.
