A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held January 15 for Red Blooms Floral Designs and Events to celebrate the business’s new location at 731 Main Street.
The event drew a large crowd of community members, business supporters and local leaders, marking one of the most well-attended ribbon cuttings in recent memory and reflecting strong local support for the business.
Greater Minden Chamber President Stephanie Barnette opened the ceremony by reflecting on the shop’s beginnings and its growth over the past seven years.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be here seven years later in this beautifully renovated building to officially re-open the new location of Red Blooms and the tea room,” Barnette said. “We look forward to many more years of success.”
Owner Kathy Cropper thanked those gathered for their continued support and emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses.
“I’d like to thank everybody for all the support the last seven years. We wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for everybody here who has contributed to our town — not just to me but to our town,” Cropper said. “We ask that you shop local; we try to support each other and we try to give back too.”
As part of the ceremony, Cropper invited attendees to adhere a penny to the store’s entrance as a symbol of encouragement and belief in the business.
“That penny represents you and your belief in us,” she said.
Cropper also thanked her husband, employees and others who assisted with renovating the building and relocating the store.
Red Blooms Floral Designs and Events is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM. The ParTEA Room will also host High Tea on Mondays from 11 AM to 2 PM.
