Richard Henry McComic, age 88, went home to his heavenly home on 2/5/24. Richard passed away in a hospice house in Glendale, Arizona.
Richard grew up in Homer LA and lived in Minden LA for many years.
Richard worked at the Joy Theater in Homer during his youth. He played football for Homer High School. Following graduation from high school Richard served in the U.S. Air Force and was an air policeman at Barksdale Air Force Base.
Richard was a hard worker having worked for Coca-Cola, WonderBread, and Community Coffee. He was very successful with his last job as a store engineer for Malone & Hyde which later became Fleming, Inc.
Richard enjoyed football including NLU, LSU, and New Orleans Saints. He also loved NASCAR, playing golf, playing his guitar as well as singing and writing music. He was active with is children helping with little league and Minden High School band. He was a member of Lions International and the Masonic Lodge.
Richard met the love of his life, JoAnn Baggett McComic of Minden. Richard and JoAnn were married at Parkway Baptist Church in Minden on May 15, 1955. They were married for 68 years. They had two children, Richard Dale and Cynthia Ann.
Richard was preceded in death by his son, Richard Dale McComic of Glendale AZ; his parents, Marshall Henry and Dona Mae McComic of Minden, LA; one brother, John Harvey (Buck) McComic of Minden, LA and a grand daughter, Kristen Renee Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann of Glendale, AZ; his daughter, Cynthia Ann Campbell (Steve) of Marshalltown, Iowa; three granddaughters, Kimberly Ann Campbell of Fort Mill, South Carolina; Kelly Marie Dunbar (Stacey) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and Kourtney Erin Murphy (Ryan) of Treynor, Iowa; five great grandchildren: Lakelyn Harper Dunbar, Luka Gene Dunbar, Tripp Kiernan Murphy, Jon Michael Murphy, and Emery Lane Dunbar.; and one sister, Lorene Prince of Minden, LA.
