Richard Raue to speak at Lions Club

by Minden Press-Herald

Guest speaker for Thursday’s noon meeting of the Minden Lions Club will be Richard D. Raue, BS, CISSP, CHSP, CHSA.

Richard is the founder and principal owner of HiTech Computers. He started the company in 1997 while finishing a computer science degree from La. Tech University. Initially focused on helping small businesses and residential clients manage their technology, HiTech quickly evolved into a healthcare-focused MSP practice, primarily working with medical clinics and rural hospitals.

In 2015, Richard co-authored the Amazon No. 1 bestselling book, “Under Attack,” contributing a section on “Defending Your Business Against a Data Breach.” He is also a facilitator for emergency preparedness tabletop exercises, dealing with scenarios ranging from hurricanes to ransomware attacks.

When not at Hi-Tech, Richard is heavily involved in the community. As a member of Kiwanis International since 1999, and having held positions as director, club president, and lieutenant governor for Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee, Richard has participated in many service projects that directly or indirectly affected hundreds of local children. Richard also served on the board of the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce for five years and is an Advisory Council Member at NewTech at Ruston High School.

Having five boys of his own, Richard serves as assistant scout master for Boy Scout Troop 59 and teaches fishing, wildlife management, personal management and communication merit badges.

The Minden Lions Club meets Thursdays at noon at the American Legion Memorial Home, located at 119 Pine St. in downtown Minden.
