Rosa Lee Bailey was the 10th of 11 children born to Jonas and Pinkie White Dec. 11, 1919 in rural Minden. She was the last remaining child. Rosa was affectionately called several names by those who knew and loved her. Among them were Sal, Mother, Aunt Sal, and Cuzn’ Sal.

Shortly after marriage she united with New Light Missionary Baptist Church and served as an active member of the Nurses Aid Auxiliary for many years. She remained a faithful member until her death.

Rosa served as a domestic employee for many of her working years and took part in rearing many of her employer’s children who loved her dearly.
