The Democrat Party’s nominations of Democratic Socialists, Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, Troy Jackson in Maine, and Angie Nixon in Florida all indicate the same thing. Democratic Socialism will be a defining issue for years to come. CNN reports that “about a third of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults identify as democratic socialists.”
These DSA candidates support abolishing the police, abolishing prisons, abolishing ICE, and amnesty for all illegal aliens. Many DSA believers also consider Thanksgiving to be a “colonizer” holiday and favor abolishing the police because they “exist to uphold white supremacy,” replacing them with social workers.
Many also strongly support universal healthcare (i.e., socialized medicine), want to create publicly owned grocery stores, and seek to abolish Right to Work laws. (Right to work laws prohibit labor unions from requiring workers to join a union or pay union dues as a condition of employment).
In fact, the DSA website calls for “a future without capitalism.” It also seeks to defund the Pentagon and nationalize most corporations. This is to say nothing about so-called Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DIE) programs, redefining Title IX to include men in women’s sports, so-called “environmental justice,” the favoring of Palestine, and the elimination of Israel and the Jews as a people.
How did we get here?
We have a number of uneducated, naïve, downwardly mobile, delusional American voters who are underpaid but possess expensive, yet often worthless, college degrees. The seductive DSA pitch begins by stating, benignly and euphemistically, that we just want “affordable housing.” However, this is quickly followed by promises of frozen rent, free buses, and cheap groceries.
This is who the national Democrat Party is. Long gone are the traditional liberal versus conservative battles between the two major parties. The national Democrat Party has become the party backing the socialist worldview of AOC and Bernie Sanders—who was in Shreveport last year on his Fight the Oligarchy tour—which is hilarious given he is the embodiment of the rich white oligarch he professes to oppose. Sanders is himself a multi-millionaire who owns three homes and who flies to campaign rallies on private jets.
What should concern the national Democrat Party is that the very same radical, Woke views espoused by these DSA candidates were soundly rejected by the majority of voters November 5th, 2024, with the resounding re-election of President Trump.
We must always remember that the very same beliefs of the DSA are what gave rise to the brutal, atheistic governments that caused the most awful century the world has ever seen. Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, and Mao all were intertwined with the rise of “progressivism,” and all were opposed to the natural rights on which our Declaration of Independence is based— which specifies that our Rights come from ‘Nature and Nature’s God’ and not from government, and therefore, government cannot take them away.
In fact, many “progressives” expressed admiration for each of these leaders shortly before their governments killed tens of millions of people who rebelled against the loss of freedom imposed by these totalitarian socialist governments, including the National Socialists German Workers Party (NAZI), and the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic (USSR).
Again, our Declaration has grounded our nation in the sacred and transcendent belief in unalienable, God-given natural rights that directly block a legitimate government’s ability to crush its people.
To describe the DSA platform as antithetical to the U.S. Constitution is to vastly understate. It would obliterate the U.S. Constitution’s system of checks-and-balances and the critically important separation of powers that exists between our three co-equal branches of government, by eliminating the U.S. Senate and making the Presidency and the U.S. Supreme Court subservient to the U.S. House of Representatives.
I watched a recent online meeting of a DSA Committee. This was the discussion: “So, the two things we are famous for are our commitment to a program and our hatred of the U.S. Constitution … the program gives us a roadmap to revolution … and the obstacle is the U.S. Constitution ….” They are calling for a revolution.
Lee Edwards, of The Heritage Foundation, previously wrote, “this is the reality of socialism—a pseudo-religion grounded in pseudo-science and enforced by political tyranny. This is the case against socialism—a god that failed, a science that never was, a political system headed for the ash heap of history.”
American citizens cannot and will not ever allow our country, the freest and most successful to ever have existed, to become anything else.
