A runaway juvenile was located Saturday on Lewisville Road, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old man on multiple charges, according to Minden Police.
Police said they were dispatched to the 1400 block of Lewisville Road after the juvenile’s mother reported she could not find her daughter. The mother told officers the girl disappeared about 30 minutes after they arrived home.
While speaking with the mother, officers saw the juvenile exit a building with an unidentified man, later identified as Derrick Carr, 18. Police said the juvenile walked toward officers, but Carr went the opposite direction toward Lewisville Road.
An officer identified himself and ordered Carr to stop, but Carr ran south on Lewisville Road. Other responding units intercepted him on West Todd Street at Brakin Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.
The juvenile was taken into custody due to her prior history of running away and probation history. Both were transported to Minden Police Department for interviews. Police said messages between the two were reviewed with their consent, and no evidence of sexual misconduct was found.
Carr was booked on misdemeanor resisting an officer and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
