SABINE PARISH (March 5, 2026) – On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, State Fire Marshal investigators arrested 35-year-old Tony Mitchell of Many in connection with a fire and domestic violence situation that occurred in February. Mitchell has been charged with Aggravated Arson, Home Invasion, and Battery of a Dating Partner – Strangulation.
On February 16, 2026, the Central Sabine Fire District (CSFD) requested the investigative services of the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal in reference to a vehicle fire located in the 500 block of Lee Street in Many, Louisiana.
Upon arrival, CSFD firefighters discovered a vehicle fully involved in flames. The fire spread to two additional vehicles parked nearby and also caused damage to the residence due to the vehicle being parked in close proximity to the home.
Following an investigation, SFM investigators determined the fire was intentionally set by Mitchell. Additional investigative work revealed the incident was connected to a domestic violence situation.
The SFM thanks the Central Sabine Fire District, Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Many Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
