Sadie Brown crowned Miss Minden 2026 during 73rd annual pageant

Sadie Brown was crowned Miss Minden 2026 on January 17 during the 73rd annual Miss Minden pageant, held at Minden High School ahead of the city’s Fasching and Mardi Gras season.

Brown also earned several top honors in the Miss division, sweeping Miss Congeniality, the Hannah McFarland Award and first place in the talent competition. Miss Congeniality is selected by fellow contestants and recognizes the participant regarded as the friendliest, kindest and most helpful throughout the pageant. The Hannah McFarland Award, named in memory of Miss Minden 2007 Hannah McFarland, is presented to the contestant receiving the highest score in the evening gown competition.

Other titles awarded during the evening included Caroline Pierce as Miss Spirit of Fasching, Julia Cox as Miss Teen Minden and Abigail Basham as Miss Teen Spirit of Fasching. Contestants in both divisions were evaluated in interviews, fitness, talent and evening gown categories.

In the Teen division, Cox also collected multiple awards. Along with her Miss Teen Minden crown, she was named Miss Congeniality and received top honors in the talent competition, in addition to the Hannah McFarland Style Award.

The event was emceed by current Miss Louisiana Gabrelle McLeod, who guided the audience through the evening’s events and presentations.

Now in its 73rd year, the Miss Minden pageant continues to be a highly anticipated community tradition, celebrating confidence, service and achievement while helping usher in the city’s Fasching festivities.
