A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on November 13 to celebrate the opening of Salon 5:13, a new hair salon in Minden offering a range of services for women, men, and children.
Owned by longtime stylist Hope Champagne, the salon provides haircuts, coloring, shampoo and styling, as well as facial waxing and eyelash extensions. Located at 706 Homer Road across from Cotton’s Chicken, the salon is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30AM to 2:30PM, with appointments recommended.
Champagne said her business is about more than just hair. “I want to be a light for Jesus,” she said. “I’m not only here for hair but for Jesus. That’s my purpose; that’s what God is calling me to do.”
As part of that mission, Champagne keeps a shelf stocked with new Bibles to give away to anyone who needs one.
In addition to her ministry focus, Champagne brings years of professional experience and a special understanding of clients with unique needs. She has worked with children with autism and others who may find it difficult to sit still during appointments.
Salon 5:13 joins Minden’s growing community of small businesses dedicated to both service and community connection. To schedule an appointment, call 318-268-2043.
