Secretary of State Nancy Landry has released sample ballots for the upcoming November 5, 2024, election. Voters will have 11 presidential candidates and their proposed vice presidents to choose from. The candidates, as listed on the ballot, are as follows:

- Chase Oliver and Mike Ter Maat (Libertarian Party)
- Donald Trump and JD Vance (Republican Party)
- Peter Sonski and Lauren Onak (American Solidarity Party)
- Randall Terry and Stephen Broden (Constitution Party)
- Mattie Preston (of Minden) and Shannel Conner (Godliness, Truth, Justice)
- Cornel West and Melina Abdullah (Justice For All)
- Claudia de la Cruz and Karina Garcia (Socialism and Liberation)
- Rachele Fruit and Dennis Richter (Socialist Workers Party)
- Robert Kennedy, Jr. and Nicole Shanahan (We The People)
For the U.S. House of Representatives, the ballot includes two candidates, both from the Republican Party: Mike Johnson and Joshua Morott.
A proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 1 asks voters whether they support requiring federal revenues from Outer Continental Shelf alternative or renewable energy production to be deposited into the Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund.
In local elections, the Town of Cullen has three candidates for mayor: Arlicia Chapman (D), Terry “Bippy” Hoof (no party), and Doris White (D). For Cullen’s chief of police, the candidates are Rosetta Carr (I) and Fannie Rankin (D). Five alderman positions are also up for election, with Yolanda Canstleman (I), Denise Epps (no party), Essin Frazier (no party), Barbara Green (D), Bianchi Veal (D), and Floydean White (D) running.
The Town of Sarepta has five alderman positions up for election, with almost all candidates running as Republicans: Michael Corley, John Hamilton, Nelda Hines, Claire Tyler Lay, and Jason Martin. David Neal is running with no party affiliation.
In Cotton Valley, candidates for mayor are Bridget Johnson (D) and Bruce Lee, Jr. (R). For chief of police, Donald Dillard (I) and Bill Ingersoll (no party) are on the ballot. Ten candidates are running for five alderman positions: Terry Brown (no party), Jailena Dodie Carter (R), Lashonda Douglas (D), Octavia Frazier (D), Terry Gibson (R), Lynn Guillot (no party), Delvin Hawkins (D), Charlene Lewis (R), Evelyn Parish (D), and Reginald Shaw (D).
Sibley’s ballot includes seven candidates for five alderman positions: Wayne Bolton (I), Alvin Al Cedars (I), Pamela Chanler (R), Richard Davis Sr. (I), John Langford (no party), Keith Merritt (no party), and Alan Myers (no party).
The Village of Dubberly has two candidates for chief of police: Coby Barton (R) and Seth Young (no party).
The voter registration deadlines are October 7 for in-person, by mail, or at the OMV Office, and October 15 through the GeauxVote Online Registration System. Early voting runs from October 18-29, excluding Sundays, from 8:30 AM. to 6 PM.
Voters across the state and locally have several choices to make on November 5, with important federal, state, and municipal races at stake.
