“You better touch these walls, you better look at everything because you never know where Mom and Dad will move next year.”
Those are poignant words that still strike deep in my heart as I remember the note that I found over 35 years ago, written by my older son.
Time is all we really have and time can slip away so fast. We better capture the moment before it’s gone. We only have today and maybe not even that much so just capture the moment because life can slip away so quickly, so suddenly, and you can’t wish it back and you cannot bring it back so just capture the moment.
My dear sweet oldest son Perry captures a moment every time he comes to see me and he recently wrote “I was sad before I came because I knew the time would pass so fast” so I just say to you, dear reader, capture the moment.” I’m preaching to the choir because I know this is what we all need to do, not just you but me as well. We need to capture the moment, appreciate what we have, not cast blame or insult those who don’t do exactly what we want. We need to be grateful for all that we have.
We don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving to come to make thank you notes because time is all we have, our families could be snatched away so quickly, so just capture the moment be grateful for everything you have and help us dear God to know that time is not forever available.
