I stayed awake all night after being uplifted hearing Barbra Streisand sing
“People who need People are the luckiest people in the world.” It sent chills through me taking me back twenty years ago when I first learned to love her as I listened to Barbra Streisand sing this song.
Then she went on to sing one of Julia Andrews songs from her musical, The Sound of Music.
Climb every mountain, Ford every stream, until you find your dream.
I wasn’t surprised to learn that Barbra also has sung before
President Kennedy, President Lyndon Baines Johnson and President Bill Clinton.
Just this week I had the opportunity to watch her Christmas special on Netflix I was brought to tears as I was reintroduced to Barbra when I had all but forgotten why I learned to love her so many years ago. So what if her nose is a little out of shape!
Maybe her nose helped to endear her to audiences years ago. When I heard her sing a classic “People who need People” it reignited why I learned to love her in the first place.
I believe God meant for us to need people, which means reaching out, baring our souls, enabling kindred spirits to pick up on our words, our thoughts, giving one another the courage to share, to become whole as I believe God meant for us to do because “people who need People are the luckiest people in the world.”
