Richard Griffin of Sarepta celebrated his 100th birthday (September 23)with a party from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 4, at Sarepta Community Center. Banks-Strong American Legion Post 166 celebrated his Air Force service to his country with a plaque for his military service and membership in the American Legion. Griffin was also the first mayor of Sarepta.
