School district recognizes employees of the month

by Minden Press-Herald

Employees of the month for September and October were recognized Monday during the Webster Parish School Board meeting Monday for their extraordinary work.

Rodney Taylor, of Taylor and Sons, presented Hilda Evans, a custodian at North Webster Upper Elementary School, with a plaque and goody bag as September’s employee of the month.

Melissa Bordelon, a federal bookkeeper at Central Office, was recognized as October’s employee of the month, also receiving a plaque and goody bag.

Taylor read their letters of nomination aloud before the board. Evans was nominated because she is always helping others, Taylor said.

“Another reason I think she should be chosen is because she cares for us and is always there for us,’” he read. “’Ms. Hilda is an amazing person.’”

Bordelon has been a school board employee for more than 20 years. In her nomination letter, Taylor read, “‘She does her job very competently. You can always count on Melissa to be there early and have the coffee pot going.’”

He also says she shares her crochet and homemade cakes during the holidays. Her attitude is always happy and helpful, he said.

Each month, Taylor and Sons sponsors the employee of the month for the Webster Parish School Board.
