Search for new BPCC leader likely to begin soon

by Associated Press

BOSSIER CITY — The search for a new Bossier Parish Community College chancellor likely will start in October.
Craig Spohn, a member of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System board, tells the Times he expects the issue on the Oct. 8 agenda.

Board members in September discussed the possibility that BPCC Chancellor Jim Henderson would take over the Northwestern State University presidency after Henderson was named a finalist.

Spohn believes the LCTCS board probably will appoint a search committee and hire a search firm to headhunt candidates nationally.

Under Henderson’s leadership, BPCC created programs in nursing, oil and gas technology, construction management, industrial technology and engineering in response to the regional employment market.
