Sebastian
Sebastian Cat, beloved Kilgore family pet, made his way to the Rainbow Bridge March 17, 2016.
He was 15 years old – 66 in human years. He was rescued in Ruston as a kitten by a sweet elderly woman the summer of 2001. He was then adopted by Anna Kilgore (now Anna Wilson), who had wanted a cat since she was very little but couldn’t have one because the family dog, Max, might not like it. This turned out to be true, but Sebastian and Max eventually worked out their differences.
Sebastian was the first cat to grace the halls of the Kilgore’s home. He was an indoor/outdoor cat who enjoyed patrolling his section of Norton Street and playing outside.
He slipped away doing what he loved – napping in the backyard.
Sebastian’s friends and family will remember him for his skillful cicada hunting and his love of people food, especially chili and whipped cream. He was known to steal buttercream clean off a cookie if it wasn’t secured. His loud, contented purrs, warm cuddles, hilarious prancing and bossy meows will be greatly missed.
He had many good days during his last year and lived happily until the end.
Sebastian is survived by friend, brother and protégé, Marvin Cat.
In memoriam, please consider adopting a cat or dog in need and/or donating to a local animal shelter such as the Webster Humane Association or Shreveport-Bossier Animal Shelter.
