Seeds Women’s Center held its third annual Christmas party on December 6 at Calvary Baptist Church, bringing holiday cheer to families and celebrating the season with community support.
“Our clients received new blankets, baby books, baby shampoo and lotion, Christmas outfits, new toys, and much more that were all donated from our community,” said Executive Director Amber Bradford. Door prizes, including gift cards and baskets filled with baby essentials, added to the festivities.

The event drew over 50 attendees and featured contributions from local businesses and volunteers. Pizza Hut provided pizza, while Coca-Cola of Minden donated drinks and bottled water. Desserts were supplied by three local bakers, who donated cupcakes and a cake. Representatives from United Way, UCAP, and Community Healthways were on hand to share information, and Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special appearance for photos.

Bradford emphasized the importance of community support in making the event possible. “Our center could not have had this Christmas party if it wasn’t for our amazing community. The families we serve look forward to it every year!”
She also shared a personal connection to the event’s mission. “When I was a client, the pregnancy center I attended had a Christmas party similar to ours, and I can remember not only all the items I received but the love and compassion from all of their volunteers and staff. We hope that our clients understand that God’s love is never ending and, not only in the Christmas season but always, we should love one another as Christ loves us.”

The center is also moving forward with renovations to its newly purchased building at 308 Pine Street. The renovations, expected to cost $30,000, will enable the organization to expand its services. “We are asking for people, churches, and organizations to help us meet this goal,” Bradford said.

Seeds Women’s Center offers a range of free services, including consultations, pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, reproductive health and loss counseling, parenting classes, and adoption option counseling. The organization is committed to providing confidential care and equipping clients with resources to make informed decisions about their pregnancy options.
