Shirley Rabalacava, 68, of Minden died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 at Meadowview Health and Rehab Center, after a long illness.

Shirley was born on Feb. 11, 1948 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to James and Helen King.Shirley had attended Trinity Baptist Church in Doyline before moving to Minden. It was there she considered her home church and where she received salvation.

Shirley loved her family and made it known her wish was for them to love one another, be forgiving and be a close family. She loved animals and considered her animals her “babies.” Her hobbies included, visiting with friends, talking on the phone, beading and shopping. She never met a stranger, was a friend to everyone. She was dearly loved by her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sheryl L. Burch and husband David of Shreveport, two sons; Robert A. Comeaux Jr. and wife Cyndi of Doyline, James A. Comeaux and wife Marvalee of Sibley.

Her grandchildren: Sara McDonald, Christopher Powell and wife Kari, Summer Birch, Kandis Fuller and husband David, Paul Lightfoot and wife Tonya, Robert Comeaux III, Katie Comeaux, Sarah Biles and husband Michael, Allison Ladet and husband Matt, Emily Comeaux and Jena Comeaux.

Her great grandchildren: Ashton Roe, Nichloas Powell, Jaydance McDonald, Sophie McDonald, Emma Powell, Marie Powell, Noah Birch, Harley Birch, Kalybe Vanwatermeulen, Kaydance Fuller, Kadyn Fuller, Kayzlei Fuller, Alyssa Ann Ladet, Eva Biles and Lily Grace Biles. Hailey Lightfoot, Crimson Lightfoot, Cayden Lightfoot.

Three sisters: Kathy Helms of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Judy Whitfield of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Brenda Anderson and husband Scott of Malvern, Arkansas. And many other extended family members.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Robert A. Comeaux, Her father, James King, her mother, Helen Smith, her sisters, Wanda Sue King and Connie Fisher.

A memorial service in her honor will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at Christian Church at Minden, 400 Broadway in Minden for family and friends.
