On July 2, a Minden police officer patrolling the area of Winford Street observed Lonnie Minnifield, 64, of Shongaloo, walking down the wrong side of the road. Recognizing Minnifield as having an active warrant, the officer initiated a stop due to the traffic infraction and the high crime nature of the neighborhood.
For officer safety, a quick pat-down was conducted. The officer then asked Minnifield for permission to search his person, which Minnifield consented to. During the search, 0.2 grams of crack cocaine was found in Minnifield’s ball cap.
Minnifield was transported to the Minden Police Department. There, he was booked and later transported to BDCC.
