A Sibley woman was arrested Monday after police reported finding narcotics and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in Minden.
Around 2:50 PM on September 1, officers stopped a white Toyota Corolla at North Talton and Mignon for failing to use a turn signal. Police identified the driver as 35-year-old Ashley Alexander.
According to the report, Alexander appeared nervous, shaking and sweating heavily. She gave officers consent to search her vehicle, where they found a bag containing pills later identified as clonazepam and buprenorphine hydrochloride with naloxone (Suboxone). Police also reported locating a glass pipe with crystal residue, a small container with a white crystal substance, and a straw shaped into a spoon.
Authorities said Alexander admitted to knowing the narcotics were inside the vehicle and to having used them days earlier.
She was arrested and transported to the Minden Police Department before being booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. Alexander faces charges of improper turn signal, possession of Schedule III, possession of Schedule IV, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
