Students, faculty and a few former players gathered into the cafeteria at Minden High on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate three Minden football players and their decision to continue playing football in college.
Wide receiver Seth Johnson, linebacker Bobbie Britton, and offensive lineman Ja’Darrius Winans each signed their committment letters in front of the school after an introduction by head coach Spencer Heard.
“This could happen more at this school,” Heard said. “These guys have set an example. They did the work, they put school first and got it done in the classroom. I couldn’t be more proud of what they have accomplished.”
Britton signed to play at Dodge City Junior College in Kansas.
Winans committed to Lamar College in Texas.
Johnson will be attending Southern Arkansas University.
