Simon J. “Doc” Collins, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Nov. 24, 2015 at his residence.
Doc was a former resident of the Minden area.

He was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Coushatta, son of Amos Collins and Ethel Smith. Doc was the last living of eight children.

He had worked as a realtor for over 50 years. He also served his country in World War II in the Army and in the Korean War as an Air Force Reservist.

Doc was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Ann Collins.

Survivors include two sons, Steve (Jan) and Craig (Elaine), and a daughter, Linda Collins Parker (Allen) as well as grandchildren Travis Breeze, Shelby Collins, Sean Collins, Justin Collins, Davis Collins, Matthew Shroyer, Chloe Parker, Cambria Parker and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady Russman and Sons, located at 1201 E. Oak St. in Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 Monday.

Burial with Military Honors will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central.

Expressions of sympathy may be given to the donor’s favorite charity.
