Stephen Tyler Downs

by Minden Press-Herald

Stephen Tyler Downs was born Oct. 8, 1993 and passed away Feb. 23, 2016 in Bossier City.

Tyler graduated from Minden High School in 2012 and attended La Tech University where he was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. He was living in Bossier City and working at Buckle.

Tyler is survived by his mother and father, Kristi and David Lisenby; sister, BreAnna Downs; brother, Landon Lisenby; grandparents, Jimmy and Gail Downs and Steve Hickey; aunt, Crystal Miller and husband Shane; uncles, Jeffrey Downs and wife Anna and Jonathon Downs and wife Carla; great-grandmother, Opal Marie Johnson; and numerous other aunts, uncles and extended family who loved him dearly.

There are so many memories of Tyler throughout his 22 years. From the moment someone met or talked with him, it was evident that he was as genuine and as nice as a guy could be. He was a jokester and loved to cut up and have a good time. He was intelligent, hardworking, selfless, funny, and always willing to help others. Tyler was also a believer and showed it as he used to walk the halls of Minden High School proudly carrying his Bible. What an incredible example of standing up for what he believed, in a sea of high school students. His positive and upbeat spirit was contagious and truly unforgettable. Heaven definitely gained a precious soul in his passing.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Minden Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Uriah Oxford of First United Methodist Church in Bossier City and Bro. Wes Barnette of Calvary Baptist Church will be officiating.
