LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — A Lafayette teen is behind bars after police say he used “turtle power” and a stick wrapped in plastic to rob a convenience store.
KATC TV reports the incident took place around 6 a.m. Thursday.
Police say 18-year-old Lacorrion Detron Turner was wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mask when he robbed the business.
Police say Turner allegedly used a plastic-wrapped stick to force his way behind the counter. He then tried — and failed — to open the register.
Police say Turner fled on foot after taking two wallets taken from underneath the counter.
Officers arrested Turner a short time later.
It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
